Refunds and right of withdrawal

The period

A consumer who buys at a distance may withdraw from the contract within fourteen days without giving a reason. The period starts when the contract is concluded.

How to withdraw

A clear statement is enough — an email will do. No particular form is required.

When the right lapses

For a digital service the right of withdrawal lapses once the service has been supplied in full, provided the customer gave express prior consent to begin before the period had run out and acknowledged that doing so ends the right of withdrawal.

For an unlocked party this means: once it has been used after that consent, the right of withdrawal no longer applies.

What happens on withdrawal

Where a withdrawal is effective, payments received are refunded to the payment method that was used.
